Veterans often face significant mental health challenges, including PTSD and social isolation, which traditional therapies may not effectively address. There is a pressing need for innovative, nature-based therapeutic solutions that foster community and healing. The nonprofit organization aims to fill this gap by offering outdoor recreational therapy, including kayaking and fishing to promote positive engagement with nature and build camaraderie among veterans.

Waterway Warriors will deliver transformative outdoor recreational therapy for veterans, offering activities like kayaking and fishing, group therapy sessions and firepit gatherings on Totuskey Creek. By providing free lunches and fostering camaraderie around the fire pit, the organization promotes positive, healthy engagement with nature, enhancing veterans’ well-being and community connection.
